Chances are, if your organization doesn't have a website yet, you have at least considered getting one. But you may not have had the time or energy to devote to it, and in the end you (hopefully) asked yourself "Why do I need a site?" If you honestly can't answer that question, then it is possible that you don't need a website. It is also possible that you just aren't aware of what a website can do.
There are different types of websites, such as "brochure" sites, which just display information about a company, much like a printed brochure does.
There are product-based sites which focus on a given product or product line, and catalog sites, which display hundreds or thousands of products.
There are news sites that offer constantly updated news articles to the general public, or specific industries and groups.
And there are e-commerce sites, which combine features of a catalog or product site with online ordering and credit card processing. |
